One of the strangest jobs I ever worked was for an antiques shop that contracted with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to take any pieces "not of Catholic identity," during a church closing.

But seriously, anyone claiming this move "frees" Trump to do whatever is being ridiculous. He is/was already empowered to do exactly as he pleases.

The tragedy is how much time gets sucked into this vortex of fake productivity. Real work — the kind of work that builds things, solves problems, or pushes ideas forward — needs, craves, demands focus. It requires uninterrupted stretches of time to think deeply, experiment, and iterate. But the very tools designed to help you are the ones sabotaging your focus at every turn.

If you're an organization and not prioritizing this, you're failing your workers. If you're a manager and not defending this for your team, you're failing as a manager. And if you're a worker not taking active steps to defend your time, you are letting them fail you.

Last week I spoke to a middle school class about cybersecurity as a career, and AI came up. I asked if they had tried to use LLMs to do their schoolwork—they all had. But every student in the class said it didn't work. Why?

"ChatGPT is too stupid."

Kids are alright.

If you haven't taught in middle or high school, you may not be aware of just how powerful and ubiquitous the alt-right radicalization pipeline is. It always starts with YouTube or Reddit, and always end on the Chans (and now X) with the vilest shit becoming their worldview.

And when we're serving up Andrew Tate and Joe Rogan as the male role models, it's no surprise. No man who makes these awful choices is beyond reproach, but I know in my heart we've failed boys and this is the result.
