@nopatience bsky is where you go if you want:
- just raw numbers of followers. as if they are currency
- you want to gush about bsky
- you want to talk about politics
i have had trouble even just trying to start conversations there, and i did a thread test last week and masto depantsed bsky gruesomely.
here, i had a mult-day thread that was very successful - there it was completely ignored. outright. one respondent, but he moved here. so im not counting him.

@Viss Yes, this! People keep talking about the "feeling" you get here... I can't put my finger on it, but I get superstressed when I viewed some of the "threads" on BSky. They feel so... random.
Here on the other hand there's a certain "familiarity". It may be entirely in my head, but I feel a bit more... I don't know, at home here.
There certainly has been quite a bit of talk about boosting the number of followers people have "over there". As if that is the purpose of the platform...

@nopatience @Viss
I haven't been active on BlueSky, but my earliest impressions were:
- The site had a nice clean feel to it.
- Barely anything improved (after a year, they finally added the ability to upload an animated GIF, by clicking on a separate (why?) button for uploading a video)
- Anything I said infosec-related received crickets chirping in response.
So alas, at least for now here I am. TBH, most important to me is a critical mass of audience/discussion related to infosec. There is no place in my heart for platform zealotry.

@wdormann @nopatience yeah i submit like 4-8 feature requests and bugs using their form. it used to be just a google form. all of it, 100% ignored. zero feedback, zero response, none of the bugs i reported got fixed.
so i sorta wrote the place off
